Planning Phase Services
The first step in the implementation process beginning with an initial meeting followed by information exchanges between BigFix and the customer to collect data about the customer’s network and to develop a plan to deploy BigFix Agents, Servers, Relays, and Policy Content Channels. Typical deliverables:
- A completed BigFix Deployment Project Plan
- A list of machines on which the BigFix Server(s) and BigFix Relay(s) will be deployed
- A plan for deploying BigFix Agents on eligible desktop, mobile and server computers
Deployment Phase Services
BigFix Professional Services consultants, working with the customers BigFix Administrator, DBA, and others, work to the Deployment Project Plan to install and load the BigFix Server, install BigFix Relays, and deploy BigFix Agents. Typical deliverables:
- Installed and fully operational BigFix Server and BigFix Relays according to the Deployment Project Plan
- A group of deployed and operational BigFix Agents according to the Deployment Project Plan
Skills Transfer Phase Services
BigFix Professional Services consultants exchange knowledge with customer BigFix Site Administrator(s), to help them understand the BigFix functions that they will control. Typical deliverables:
- Customer BigFix Site Administrator(s) with expert knowledge on how to generate value from the customer’s BigFix Solution
Initial Optimization Phase Services
BigFix Professional Services consultants examine the performance of the BigFix Server, BigFix Relays, and select BigFix Agents, and recommended configuration changes to customer BigFix Site Administrator(s) that will improve the overall operation of the BigFix solution. BigFix Professional Services consultants may also make changes in the solution as authorized by the customer in the course of the engagement. Typical deliverables:
- A report listing the issues surfaced during the Initial Optimization review process and recommendations for remediating identified problems. The report will also indicate which remediation actions were implemented per approval of the customer BigFix Site Administrator or other customer management authority
